OCHOZ U BRNA, BRNO - World Organization of the Scouting Movement (WOSM) has organising the World Scout Seminar on Environment Education that is hosted by Junák – Czech Scouting from 18 – 21 May 2016, at Kapraluv mlyn SCENES Centre in the Czech Republic. Participants of the seminar consists of Mr. Kalaimani Supramaniam (Assistant National Chief Scout Commissioner for Environment, PPM) as one of the guests to give a talk for Environment Partnerships and 3 representatives of NSO’s which are (from left) Natasha Biha binti Ahmad Shazali (PPM Daerah KLKM MSU), Affendy Zabkha bin Mohamad Zain (PPM Daerah KLKM IKTBN Chembong), Wan Muhammad Aufar Nahri bin Wan Ahmad Amli (PPM Daerah KLKM MSU) from Malaysia also, the remain 34 representatives from Taiwan, Poland, Spain, Czech Republic, United States of America (USA), Germany, Macedonia, Canada, Pakistan, Costa Rica, Lithuania, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, Luxembourg, Portugal, Australia and Hungary.
Not to mention theother 6 organisers of World Scout Seminar on Environment Education, Czech Republic 2016 which are Hany Abdulmonem (WOSM Youth Programme Director), Uzair Kamal (Manager, Global Environment Portfolio), Cynthia Márquez (Manager, MOP Global Network), Michal Medek (Director, Junák – Czech Scouting Kapraluv mlyn SCENES Centre), Pia Melin Mortensen (Naesbycentre SCENES Centre), Chris Nielsen (Member, Global Environment Unit) together with the remain 2 guests which are David Peña from United Kingdom, the representative seller of WOSM Shop and Stefanie Luginbühl Alassane from Switzerland, the one that are going to present about the environment issues.
This seminar was conducted to help the NSOs to enhance the ability of the comprehensive environmental education program by sharing and exchanging ideas of the learning platform, and to share understanding of the environment education activities by implementing the World Scout environmental Program at national and local level. Therefore, the aim of this seminar is to bring the Scout leaders together and stimulate exchange of the ideas on environmental education and foster new working knowledge for the implementation of the World Scout Environmental Program (WSEP), strengthen the SCENES Centres and Environment Partnerships.
The seminar starts on 18th May early morning and ended on 21st May evening but workshop on solar badge and local caving experience took place in Sunday 22nd morning, so the participants that joined the activities leaves on 22nd May after lunch. Participants are expected to arrived on 17th May for registration and join the inauguration that night. The first day of seminar starts with opening ceremony and initiation of KapraluvMlyn building together with its historical story. The next day is the World Scout Environment Program (WSEP) session, followed by Scout Centres of Exellence for Nature and Environment (SCENES), Partnerships until the last day of seminar which is the solar badge and local caving experience.
Besides of seminar, we also experience lots of interesting activities such as Market Place slot, Cultural Night, having a tour and dinner in Brno’s town, caving at Punkva cave and for our last night at the Kapraluv mlyn, we gotthe chance to experienced Czech’s evening as the closing ceremony of this seminar also, as the farewell dinner.
